Full-time Receptionist/Administrative Secretary Police Department

The Village of Sunbury will be accepting applications for the position of Full Time Receptionist / Administrative Secretary assigned to the Police Department.  The qualified applicant needs to have a working knowledge of performing a wide range of clerical, technical and support activities such as preparing and composing correspondence/reports/statements and other documents, answering telephones, providing customer assistance, arranging meetings, scheduling appointments, processing mail and assisting in the administration of the standard operating policies and procedures of the Sunbury Police Department and Village of Sunbury.

In addition, may be required to attend an evening or weekend Village meeting or community event to assist other Village personnel with clerical matters, coordinates court subpoenas and scheduling, ensures compliance with the Village’s record retention schedule.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent certificate, effective communications skills;

Compensation Range:  $10.00 - $16.55/ hr. with excellent benefits (starting range negotiable)

Work Schedule: Monday Friday, eight (8) hours per day, forty (40) hours per week, excellent benefits.

The Sunbury Police Department offers full testing services for the position of police officer through National Testing Network, Inc. To fill out an application and schedule a test, go to
www.nationaltestingnetwork.com, select Law Enforcement and sign up for the Sunbury Police Department.

What to expect at the www.nationaltestingnetwork.com website:

  • Completion of the application process
  • Review all information related to the Sunbury Police Department police officer position, including minimum requirements, salary and benefits.
  • Detailed information about the testing process for both the entry level test and PAT testing.
  • Opportunity to take online practice tests at www.frontlinetest.com.
  • Schedule your own convenient test time. Tests are offered multiple times a week, including Saturdays.
  • Take high quality job simulation tests in a standardized, fair testing environment.

Upon completion of the entry level exam and PAT testing (if applicable), all candidate scores are automatically forwarded to the Sunbury Police Department. Candidates who attain a passing score on both the entry level exam and the physical abilities test will be placed on the department’s eligibility list. The Sunbury Police Department will contact candidates on the list and will invite them to continue to participate in other stages of the department selection process.  National Testing Network is a service provided to conduct entry level testing and PAT testing in a standardized, professional environment.

National Testing Network does not replace the Sunbury Police Department’s responsibility and decision making in the testing process.  All candidate results are provided to Sunbury Police Department where the final decisions are made.
